A prince of fantasy: E. T. A. Hoffmann
The passionate pianist Natalija Nikolayeva studied in Ukraine and at the University of the Arts in Berlin. She has won several prizes and works as a lecturer and publicist. Her chamber music programmes look beyond the horizon and offer insights into the connections between literature and music, such as this afternoon on E. T. A. Hoffmann on the occasion of his 250th birthday.

On the 200th anniversary of Carl Maria von Weber's death
Dresden soprano Gretel Wittenburg and guitarist Elke Jahn will perform a programme of Weber's songs on guitar on a historical instrument to mark the Weber memorial year. Most of the songs were written in Hosterwitz. Letters and texts from Carl Maria von Weber's life will also be recited.

The song cycle "Die schöne Müllerin" is one of the most famous song cycles of the Romantic period. The poems by Wilhelm Müller were dedicated to Carl Maria von Weber, who, however, did not set them to music. Instead, Franz Schubert created an unforgettable work of romantic song culture with love songs that seem timeless.

Compositions of the von Kaskel family
The year of Jewish culture
Several members of the von Kaskel family worked as composers, including Sophie Countess von Baudissin, née Kaskel (1817-1894), Carl Freiherr von Kaskel (1797-1874) and his grandson of the same name Carl von Kaskel (1866-1943). Four operas by the latter were performed at the Saxon State Theatre. Their compositions have been completely forgotten and are being heard again for the first time in more than a hundred years.
